I am working on a number of oil and charcoal pieces currently, rooted in the very localised scars left from Cornwall's industrial past - mining. Unearthed heaps 'Overburdens' shape many trails and gullies and, at nightfall particularly I feel these shapes and history coming together. Looming and swooping on the landscape. I'm enjoying connecting the natural forms with a sense of the human energy and history in the region. Here is this piece getting its name.
